PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink thickening inspection method which is low-cost, simple, and highly reliable. SOLUTION: The inkjet recorder, performing printing by discharging ink from a print head 416, has an ink supplier 600 for supplying the print head 416 with ink, a pressure adjustment pump 605 for adjusting ink pressure in the print head, a heater for adjusting an ink temperature in the print head, a head recovery means for performing a recovery operation for discharging ink from the print head, a CPU for performing the test printing which shows that a predetermined pattern is printed by changing the ink pressure after the recovery operation and enables changes in the printing operation based on the ink information acquired by the test print.
