<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To emit a flash light with the proper quantity of light emission constantly even when a subject or a digital camera moves from face detection to light modulation control, in the digital camera which controls the quantity of flash light emission while utilizing a result of the face detection. <P>SOLUTION: A flash control means 19 of a digital camera 1 comprises a light emission quantity determining means 44 for determining the quantity of flash light emission by arithmetic processing in which a consideration degree of face in the determination of the quantity of light emission can be set as an arithmetic parameter; and parameter setting means (entire control unit 30, face area extraction unit 24 and the like) for acquiring index data indicating a degree of influences to be exerted upon the determination of the light emission quantity by movement of the digital camera or the subject, and setting a value of the arithmetic parameter to a value determined based on a value of the index data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
