PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk destroying device capable of easily and properly destroying the recording areas of a plurality of optical disks by a relatively compact device without taking labor and time. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a shielding casing 11 for shielding a microwave, a microwave oscillation device for oscillating a microwave in the shielding casing, and a destruction assist unit 20 having a plurality of gaps formed to insert an optical disk 30. The destruction assist unit 20 having the optical disk 30 inserted into the gaps is mounted in the shielding casing 11, and a microwave is projected to destroy the metal layer of the optical disk. In the destruction assist unit 20, insulating members having predetermined dielectric constants are arranged at predetermined intervals to form gaps. In the insulating member, in a surface facing the surface of the metal layer of the optical disk inserted into the gaps, recessed and projected parts are disposed to form a place where a distance from the surface of the metal layer locally approaches to concentrate charges.
