<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix type display device capable of suppressing variance among pixels by reducing variation of an image signal retained by the capacitance element of a pixel circuit. <P>SOLUTION: The active matrix type display device is provided with: pixel parts having a plurality of self-luminous type display elements arranged in a matrix shape on a substrate; a plurality of signal lines connected to every columns of the pixel part; and a plurality of scanning lines connected to every rows respectively; wherein each pixel part comprises a first retention capacitance C<SB>S</SB>which is connected between the gate of a driving transistor and the source thereof and a second retention capacitance C<SB>S</SB>2 connected between the gate of the driving transistor and the cathode of a display element; the first retention capacitance is formed as a parallel flat plate capacitance composed of a first electrode film E1 connected to the gate electrode of the driving transistor and a second electrode film E2 connected to a second voltage power source, and the second retention capacitance is formed as a parallel flat plate capacitance composed of the first electrode film and a third electrode film E3 connected to the cathode of the display element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
