PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless LAN access point and a wireless LAN terminal which have high security in an assignment processing. SOLUTION: The wireless LAN access point 101 accommodating the wireless LAN terminal has a means of controlling transmission outputs by transmission packets and a function of deciding the reception radio wave intensity of a packet containing a predetermined command from the wireless LAN terminal. Only when the packet containing the predetermined command is received from the wireless LAN terminal 103 and the reception radio wave intensity of the packet is larger than a predetermined value, a response is sent out to the wireless LAN terminal 103 with a lower radio wave output than usual. The wireless LAN terminal 13 comprising a wireless communication unit and a communication protocol processing unit connected to the wireless communication unit has a transmission radio wave output control unit, which performs control to reduce the transmission radio wave output of the wireless communication unit when transmitting the predetermined command.
