PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for controlling a flux line of a glass-melting tank controlling with high precision the flux line of the glass-melting tank. SOLUTION: A control part 52 sinks a floater 62 into molten glass G by driving a driving motor 66 of a ball screw device 64 normally or reversely so as to make a nut 70 transfer downward when a flux line level GL detected by a displacement gauge 22 is lower than a predetermined level. According to this operation, the flux line level GL rises by a volume of the floater 62 sunken until reaching to the predetermined level when the driving motor 66 stops. On the contrary, when the flux line level GL is higher than the predetermined level, the control part floats up the floater 62 from the molten glass G by driving the driving motor 66 normally or reversely. According to this operation, the flux line level GL descends until reaching to the predetermined level when the driving motor 66 stops. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
