An automatic switch having a heat ray sensor is provided to reduce unnecessary power supply to a load by temporarily performing the on of a load in case of the off of the load and converting the on of the load into the off of the load by pressing of a control handle for a short time. An automatic switch(1) includes a body(2), a heat ray sensor(5), a control handle(3), a control switch(61), and a control device. The body is positioned on a construction surface. The heat ray sensor detects a heat ray from a human body. The control handle is rotatably pivot-supported on a front surface(230) of the body. The control switch has a controller(610) and is received in the body by being exposed on the front surface of the body. The controller is pressed and driven by the control handle. The control device converts a first control mode into a second control mode when the controller is pressed by the control handle for more than a predetermined first time.
