A method for transmitting a call and a short message and a computer-readable recording medium having a program for performing the method are provided to allow a user to transmit the call and the short message easily, through character strings displayed on a personal terminal, even without an existing phone number system. A service subscriber selects a specific character string among character strings displayed on a personal terminal(53), and requests call transmission to a service client(S201). The service client extracts an actual telephone number by searching all data stored in the personal terminal based on the specific character string(S202). The service client requests call transmission to a parlay application server(51) by using the extracted telephone number(S203). The parlay application server informs the parlay gateway of call initiation, thereby initiating a call transmission service. The parlay gateway informs a mobile switching center(12) that the call transmission service is initiated(S205). When the mobile switching center performs call connection on a caller phone(S206), a caller awaits that a receiver takes the call(S207). When the mobile switching center performs call connection on a receiver phone(S208), the receiver takes the call(S209). |
