It is disclosed a method of recovering, at a network management system, a structure of a portion of a tree logically arranged database of a network element. The portion of the database comprises a set of nodes arranged at a layer of the tree logically arranged database. The method comprises: transmitting to the network element a structure recovery request comprising an identifier of a root of the portion of the database and an information indicative of the layer; receiving a response message from the network element, the response message comprising, for at least one node of the set of nodes, a part of the node name; and processing the response message for recovering the structure of the portion of the database.
