The device has band ends (3) connectable with an air mask in a detachable manner by a fixing device. A band is connected with a central section (2), where the band ends extend away from the central section to the air mask. The central section rests at a head of a wearer, and is adjusted partially to a head shape of the wearer. The central section lies at a chin of the wearer, and is adjusted partially to a chin shape of the wearer, where the central section is a preform. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a holding device for attachment of an air mask at a head of a wearer.
