The machine has several printing units (1.1-1.12) arranged one after another in a flow direction of a print substrate (8). Each printing unit exhibits an electrostatic printing aid (3.1-3.12) that is attached to a printing cylinder (2.1-2.12). The electrostatic printing aids of the printing units exhibit different polarities. Each printing unit has an impression roller (4.1-4.12) that is provided with an electrical semi-conductive outer section, and a device that transfers an electrical load (6.1-6.12) to the outer section of the impression roller.
