A method for preventing or controlling decomposition of FGF-2(fibroblast growth factor-2) or FGF-beta is provided to protect FGF-2 or FGF-beta from decomposition, rebuild extracellular matrix in the dermis and control skin aging. The decomposition of FGF-2 or FGF-beta is prevented or controlled by applying to the skin a cosmetic composition comprising 0.001-20% of a plant extract selected from Hibiscus Abelmoschus extract, rebokza extract, gougizi berry extract, banha extract, lessonia extract, mustard powder extract, wooyin extract, barley extract, sesame extract or combinations thereof and cosmetically acceptable excipients. Further, the extract is an aqueous or a hydro-alcoholic extract. |
