An electrophoretic display is provided to control intensity of a reflected color by controlling polarity and size of a charge, applied to a pixel electrode, and to reduce deterioration of luminance according as incident light passes no color filter until being emitted. An electrophoretic display comprises a first substrate(100) where plural color sub pixels are mounted, a second substrate(200) facing the first substrate, partitions(250), fluid layers(260), and charged particles(270). The partition is disposed between the first and second substrates, and partitions each pixel. The fluid layer is disposed in a space between the first and second spaces and between the partitions. The charged particle is disposed within the fluid layer. Each color sub pixel comprises the followings. A pixel electrode(151) is electrically connected with a TFT(Thin Film Transistor). A color giving unit(152a,152b,152c) is disposed on the pixel electrode. The color giving unit and the second substrate are spaced from each other. The color giving unit is a color filter. The charged particle includes a black color particle. |
