An organic lighting emitting display device and a driving method thereof are provided to prevent an operation error due to a logic signal by using internal horizontal and vertical synchronous signals when an external effect is applied. Plural data lines(D1~Dm) deliver data signals. Plural scan lines(S1~Sn) deliver scan signals. Plural pixels(110) are defined by the data and scan lines and include pixel circuits. A data driver(300) generates data signals. A scan driver(200) generates scan signals. A signal controller(400) receives an external signal, measures a data transmission start time, and generates a first signal and a control signal. The signal controller generates the first signal according to the measured result. The control signal is generated from the first signal. The signal controller samples the data transmission start time by using a vertical synchronous signal, a horizontal synchronous signal, and a dot clock, which are included in the external signal. When the sampled data transmission start time has at least two values, the signal controller defines a larger value for the data transmission start time and generates the control signal by using the first signal.
