An ATM(Automated Teller Machine) and a fault recovering method thereof by using image files are provided to output motion picture files showing front states of the ATM and front screen capture files showing a transaction display part via the communication between a camera processing part and a clerk manipulation part, thereby increasing the maintenance of the ATM and providing convenience to a clerk handling a fault. An ATM includes a clerk manipulation part(260) mounted at a rear surface of the ATM for controlling the ATM, a camera(271) for taking photographs of a front state of the ATM, and a camera processing part(270) for driving and controlling the camera according to a control signal output from the clerk manipulation part. A memory(310) is connected to the clerk manipulation part and the camera processing part for storing the control signal output from the clerk manipulation part and data generated by the control to carry out communication between the clerk manipulation part and the camera processing part. The clerk manipulation part has an input part(263) for inputting clerk's request, a processor(265) for composing command messages corresponding to the clerk's request and controlling the clerk manipulation part, and a display part(261) for outputting the result data processed by the processor.
