A field installable optical connector having an enhanced optical fiber fixing unit is provided to allow a user to check the connection state between core wires of optical fibers with eyes through a transparent capillary tube. A field installable optical connector having an enhanced optical fiber fixing unit is composed of a ferrule(32) having a receiving hole(32a) formed inside to receive an optical fiber(8); a cover(16) covering the outer periphery of the rear end of the ferrule; a frame(70) of which the outer periphery of the front end is inserted into the rear end of the cover to surround a connector body(40); the connector body inserted into the frame to receive a portion of the rear end of the ferrule and a capillary tube(34) contacting with the ferrule, and composed of a V-groove recessing the optical fiber and hook insertion holes(48) formed at both sides of the V-groove; a snap-fit(80) having hooks(82) fitted into the hook insertion holes and installed at both sides of the lower end, and fixing the upper outer periphery of the optical fiber by the lower surface; a spring(60) disposed at the rear outer periphery of the connector body; an outdoor optical fiber clipper(100) combined with the connector body partially protruded to the rear end of the frame, to clip the outdoor optical fiber; and a housing(18) into which the cover and the frame are inserted. The optical connector fixes the optical fiber at the inside without signal loss.
