PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep a waist opening edge rolled down. SOLUTION: The underpants type disposable diaper is composed of an absorbent body including an absorber and an external sheet integrally attached to the outer side of the absorbent body. A waist opening part and a pair of left and right leg opening parts are formed by jointing a front body and a rear body of the external sheet at both sides in the state of a product. A fastening member is disposed near the waist opening edge on the outer surface of the front body of the diaper, and a locking member to be detachably locked with the fastening member is disposed in the area including the center part in the cross direction of the crotch region on the front body side.
