<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side airbag device for a vehicle capable of consistently restraining the shoulder part by a side airbag. <P>SOLUTION: A side airbag 30 has a recess 34 for reducing the bag thickness on a shoulder corresponding part 33, and an upper part 31 of the side airbag 30 is inflated and developed earlier than a lower part 32. Thus, the recess 34 of the side airbag 30 and a shoulder P1 of an occupant P fitted to the peripheral thereof can be support not only from outer sides in the right-to-left direction of a vehicle but also from an upper side thereof. As a result, any upward movement of the shoulder can be suppressed when the occupant is abutted on the side airbag 30, and the shoulder P1 can be consistently restrained by the side airbag 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
