CATHODE ACTIVE SUBSTANCE POWDER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode active material powder which is useful for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery which can demonstrate a high discharging capacity and a high output in a high current rate.

SOLUTION: The cathode active material powder is composed of primary particles and cohered particles of primary particles, and an average particle diameter of volume standard of the primary particle and the cohered particle of the primary particle in the powder is 0.1 μm or more and 3 μm or less, and a percentage of [sum of volume of particles with a particle diameter of 5 μm or more]/[sum of volume of whole particles] is 10% or less, and a BET specific surface area of the powder is more than 2 m2/g and less than 7 m2/g. A cathode for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery is provided with the above cathode active material powder and a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery is provided with the above cathode for the non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery.
