摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce facility costs by making the entire apparatus compact, and to perform safe and stable operation in concentration of heavy components of oxygen isotopes. <P>SOLUTION: This method for concentrating heavy components of oxygen isotopes comprises processes of: the first distillation supplying ozone and oxygen generated in an ozonizer 12 to a distillation column 13 filled with dilution gas and separating into oxygen, ozone and dilution gas; photolysis selectively decomposing ozone containing heavy components of the oxygen isotopes by leading out ozone in a decompressed state from the bottom of the distillation column, introducing it into a photoreaction cell 14, and irradiating it with laser beam; the second distillation returning oxygen containing the heavy components of oxygen isotopes and undecomposed ozone to the distillation column and separating into oxygen, ozone and dilution gas; taking out as a product liquid oxygen by liquefying oxygen containing the heavy components of oxygen isotopes in a condenser 16 provided at the top of the distillation column; and the third distillation separating oxygen from the dilution gas.
