PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding door ensuring a sufficient amount of indoor and outdoor ventilation without enlarging the face dimensions of an upper rail. SOLUTION: The sliding door comprises the upper rail 3, a rail receiving member 4 and an elastic body 6. The upper rail 3 has a guide groove 5 of an upper frame rail 7, and ventilating holes 9a, 9b provided in an indoor side wall 19a and an outdoor side wall 19b of the guide groove 5. A rail receiving member 4 is formed in approximately U-shape opened upward, and arranged along a longitudinal direction in the guide groove 5. An indoor side end 23a is mounted to the indoor side wall 19a of the guide groove 5 above the ventilating hole 9a, and an outdoor side end 23b is mounted to the outdoor side wall 19b of the guide groove 5 above the ventilating hole 9b so as to be vertically movable. A space between the guide groove 5 and the rail receiving member 4 is made a ventilating path S communicating with the indoors and outdoors through the ventilating holes 9a, 9b.
