PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outside locking device for a sliding door, which prevents the occurrence of noise and the damage of a sliding door frame even when a sash roller mounts on foreign matter on a running rail while easily mounting the sliding door to the sliding door frame. SOLUTION: The outside locking device 1 for the sliding door 4 traveling with its upper end guided by a groove of an upper frame 2b, is composed of: a body part 10; a guide member 12 energized in a projecting direction by an elastic member 11 disposed at the body part 10; and a swing mechanism 13 for selectively locating the body part 10 in vertical and horizontal directions.
