PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the generation efficiency of hydrogen by increasing the temperature of vapor fed to a gasification furnace to that near the temperature of a high temperature generated gas. SOLUTION: A steam heating apparatus 16 is composed of: first and second exchange type heat storage heat exchangers 17, 18 in which each one end is always communicated with a gasification furnace 1 to be fed with hydrocarbon fuel 2 and an oxidizer 3; a leading tube 23 allowing the other ends of the heat exchangers 17, 18 to be communicated with each other and also provided with two leading valves 24, 25 on the way; a high temperature generated gas leading tube 26 connected to a space between the leading valves 24, 25; a feed tube 27 allowing the other ends of the heat exchangers 17, 18 to be communicated with each other and also provided with two feeding valves 28, 29 on the way; a steam feed tube 30 connected between feeding valves 28 and 29, and a controller 33 for performing change control to the opening/closing of the leading valves 24, 25, and feeding valves 28, 29 in such a manner that, when a high temperature generated gas 4 is discharged from either the heat exchanger 17 or 18, steam 22 is fed from the other.
