A cap (4) for a reagent container applied to the opened tubular portion (2b) of the container body for containing reagent. The reagent container (1) is also provided. The cap (4) comprises a fixing member (5) applied to the opened tubular portion and consisting of an outside guide tube (5a) having a protrusion (5d) formed on the inner circumference at the upper end and an inside guide tube (5e) forming an annular space, a slide member (6) having an outer tube (6a) attached slidably to the fixing member and formed with an external screw groove engaging with a protrusion and an inner tube (6b) having an internal screw groove formed reversely in direction to the external screw groove and forming an annular space, a rotary tube (7) formed with a protrusion (7a) engaging with the internal screw groove and engaging with the inside guide tube, a member (9) arranged in the annular space and urging the slide member in a direction away from the fixing member, and a seal member (8) having one end applied to the lower end of the inside guide tube and sealing between the inside guide tube and the rotary tube by forming an intermediate twist portion and applying the other end to the upper end of the rotary tube.
