<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device which enables easy operation and precise input detection. <P>SOLUTION: The input device receives instruction input by a user. The input device is provided with a means for detecting the number of instructions, and a processing execution means. The means for detecting the number of instructions detects the number of fingers which perform the instruction input as the number of instructions. The processing execution means executes processing in accordance with the number of instructions detected by the means for detecting the number of instructions.
