Resin dispersion for sizing in paper manufacture

A resin dispersion for intermass and surface sizing in paper manufacturing, which is based on unfortified or fortified rosin esterified with polyhydric alcohols. The dispersion also contains organic amines but no protective colloids or surfactants. Also claimed is a process for the production of this dispersion, by mixing the rosin starting material in the melt with amines in the absence of colloids and surfactants, and then stirring with warm water.
