ALGINIC ACID-BASED MATERIAL, FOAM COMPRISED OF THE SAME, ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD AND REGENERATION METHOD OF FOAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foam that suppresses environmental loads to a minimum extent in use, reuse and disposal thereof and exhibits excellent inhibiting effects on moisture-absorption/release and enhanced durability when used. SOLUTION: The inhibiting effects on moisture-absorption/release of the material are enhanced by incorporating at least one compound selected from among alginic acid, an alginic acid salt and an alginate ester with the material and causing the water content thereof to be at most 10 wt.%. The material is admixed with a foaming agent and a plasticizer, dissolved in water, foamed and dried to give the foam.
