The cross section of the continuous plastic profile is defined by a drawing in the disclosure. The perspective view shows a hollow, thin-walled beam or lath of rectangular or box cross section. It is reinforced internally. The internal reinforcement comprises a thin-walled sheet with corrugations running longitudinally. Seen in cross section, the 180[deg] turning points at the upper and lower ends of the corrugations, contact the two wider walls of the rectangular box section. The box section may be divided vertically by horizontal partitions joining and running longitudinally between its two vertical, narrower walls. In this case, a separate corrugated reinforcement fills each of the tiers so defined. This construction increases the load-bearing capacity of the profile. A machine manufacturing the profile continuously, includes tubes or rods which bend the material to its wavy form. The sidewalls give the profile its final shape.
|
