<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the supply of liquid fuel to an anode, using a simple structure in a fuel cell of liquid fuel type. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel penetration part 20 to supply a liquid fuel stored in a fuel storage part 30, according to concentration gradient, is installed at the anode 14 side of a membrane electrode assembly 18. A gas circulation passage 50, consisting of a gas liquid separation film 52 and a filter 54, is installed at the upper side of the fuel storage part 30. The gas liquid separation film 52 cuts off permeation of the liquid in the fuel penetration part 20, and yet allows permeation of gas in the fuel penetration part 20.
