PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus and program capable executing initialization processing of one control means that can control a plurality of interfaces in parallel without affecting processing performed between the information processing apparatus and one external device connected through one interface. SOLUTION: A multi-function machine 10 provided with a plurality of USB terminals 38 of one and the same type connectable to an external device comprises: a USB host driver; an upper application for outputting the control command of the USB terminal 38; an execution detecting means for detecting control over the USB terminal 38; an end detecting means for detecting a control end over the USB terminal 38; an abnormality detecting means for detecting abnormality of a communication state; an initializing means for initializing a USB host driver; an operation panel 35 for inputting the initialization command of the USB host driver; and an initialization control means for executing initialization by the initializing means with the detection of the end, the input of the initialization command and the detection of the abnormality as conditions.
