A pipe shell has a ring (10) of metal or plastics material and with at least one closable opening in which is inserted an inlay (14) made of a sound-damping and/or heat-damping and/or electrically insulating material. Radially within the inlay (14) is a ring (12) joined to the inlay and made of metal, plastics and sintered material with an opening located on the same side of the periphery as the closable opening in the outer ring (10).
