Method for verification of the deterministic behaviour of a packet switched network

Verification of the determinist behaviour of a packet switching network is verified for each output port of each network switch, using a relationship based on a series of factors. These factors include the maximum latency value; the minimum time separating two consecutive frames; the jitter; and the maximum frame duration. The system provides verification of the determinist behaviour of a packet switching network comprising subscriber stations connected together through at least one switch. The behaviour is called determinist in the sense that all packets transmitted on the network from a source subscriber station rejoin the destination subscriber station(s) within a short time duration. The inequality is verified for each output port of each network switch, using a relationship based on a series of factors. These factors include the maximum latency value and the maximum duration of residence in the output buffer of a switch; the minimum time separating two consecutive frames appearing on a virtual link; the jitter associated with a virtual link; and the maximum frame duration, which is the longest duration frame on the virtual link.
