<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical compensation sheet which has enough Rth for optical compensation of a liquid crystal cell (for example, optical compensation of the liquid crystal cell in a vertical alignment mode at the time of displaying black), whose wavelength dispersibility shows forward dispersibility, which can be stably manufactured and which functions as a C plate. <P>SOLUTION: The optical compensation sheet has a transparent supporting body C1 and an optical anisotropic layer C2 respectively satisfying the following formulas (1) to (3) and further is the C plate satisfying the following formula (4). (1) 0≤Re<SB>630</SB>(C1)≤10, (2) 0≤Re<SB>550</SB>(C2)≤10, (3) 100≤Rth<SB>550</SB>(C2) -Rth<SB>550</SB>(C1), (4) ¾Rth<SB>400</SB>(C2)/Rth<SB>700</SB>(C2) -Rth<SB>400</SB>(C)/Rth<SB>700</SB>(C)¾≤0.1, wherein Rthλ(C) denotes a retardation value (unit:nm) of the optical compensation sheet (a laminated body of C1 and C2) in a film thickness direction at a wavelength λnm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
