PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To meet the demand for a material having a high electric conductivity and a high strength that can be used as a connector material, i.e. an alloy which has little effect on humans and is made of inexpensive materials and thus can replace a copper-beryllium alloy that has been conventionally used but had disadvantages of high cost and potential of allergen attributed to beryllium, and to solve the problem associated with titanium, which is a material useful as an additive element to impart strength to copper but has a poor electrical conductivity. SOLUTION: A copper-titanium-hydrogen alloy obtained by incorporating hydrogen into a copper-titanium alloy has a strength higher than that of copper and an electric conductivity higher than that of a conventional copper-titanium alloy.
