PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent device of simple process realizing low power consumption. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent device 1 is provided with a luminous layer 17 (R, G, B) installed between a pair of electrodes 23, 50 and a color filter 31 (R, G, B) which transmits light from the luminous layer 17 (R, G, B) and converts it into any of red, green, or blue light. The luminous layer 17 (R, G, B) includes a red-green luminous layer 15 to emit red-green color and a white luminous layer 16 in which a blue luminous layer 14 and the red-green luminous layer 15 are laminated in order and which emits white color. Then, the light of red-green luminous layer 15 is converted into red or green by the color filter 31 (R, G, B) and the light of the white luminous layer 16 is converted into blue color by the color filter 31 (R, G, B).
