PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attach a reflection mirror to a rear cover, and to prevent the deformation such as distortion of the rear cover, regarding a large-sized rear projection type display apparatus having a large display screen. SOLUTION: The rear projection type display apparatus includes: a bottom cabinet 2; an optical unit 3 loaded to the bottom cabinet 2, for emitting image light; the rear cover 4 supported by the bottom cabinet 2; the reflection mirror 5 attached to the rear cover 4, for reflecting the image light emitted from the optical unit 3; and a front cover 6 for covering the front face of the rear cover 6, and having a screen 7 to which the image light reflected by the mirror is projected. A rear-side reinforcing member 31 for enhancing the strength of the rear cover 4 is disposed on the bottom surface part 16b of the rear cover 4. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
