PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for a movement restricting device capable of preventing a bridge or other structure from falling from a supporting structure like a pier which supports the structure when acting on a recess part engaging member and an angled pressing member to absorb an earthquake force or the like when a vertical earthquake force or a lifting force, in particular, is applied to the bridge or other structures. SOLUTION: A movement restricting device 23 is provided with a first member 24 and a second member 25. The first member 24 is structured by a substantially rectangular box and has a recess part 24a formed in the substantially center of the lower part. A plurality of screw holes 24c, 24c for insertion of bolts are drilled in an upper surface 24b of the first member 24. The first member 24 is fixed to a part of the bridge as the structure 26 by driving a plurality of fixing bolts 26a, 26a into the screw holes 24c, 24c for bolt insertion.
