A fuel injection valve has an armature (20) operating in conjunction with a solenoid and an axially movable valve needle (3) operationally linked with the armature (20) and at which is provided a valve closure body formed together with a valve seat surface to provide a sealed seat. The armature (20) has an annular slot (42) on its outer wall surface (41) with a guide ring (43) positioned in the annular slot (42).
