<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bat with improved stiffness, strength, aerodynamics, comfort and appearance. <P>SOLUTION: This bat 10 has a longitudinal axis, a tip end 18, a butt end 19, a handle portion 12 extending from the butt end 19, a hitting portion 16 extending from the tip end 18 and having a cross-section larger than the handle portion 12, and a connecting portion 14 connecting the handle portion 12 and the hitting portion 16. At least a part of the bat 10 is formed from a single tube having at least one pair of opposed openings, and includes a tubular port 20 having both side ends bonded to these openings.
