PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a greening wall surface by excellently matching a front wall of an erosion control dam developed in forest land with trees around the dam according to aging of the dam, without the sense of discomfort. SOLUTION: According to a method of constructing the green wall surface, the front-side concrete wall surface of the erosion control dam is formed into an upward stepped wall surface at intervals of 1 to 1.5 m, and a cavity formed like a Z-shape in cross section and having a cross sectional area of at least 0.1 to 0.2 m<SP>2</SP>is formed in each step portion so as to extend to the depth from a front surface, followed by filling substrate soil in each cavity for planting trees. An interval between adjacent planted trees is about 1.5 m to 2 cm, and the trees are planted at an intermediate location that does not overlap an upper or lower planting location.
