PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyarylene sulfide resin (PAS resin) composition circumferentially hardly allowing contamination, cloudiness, etc., even when exposed at a high temperature for a long time. SOLUTION: The polyarylene sulfide resin composition contains (A) a polyarylene sulfide resin obtained by reacting (a2) an alkali metal sulfide or an alkali metal hydrosulfide with (a3) a polyhaloaromatic compound in the presence of (a1) an amide-group-containing cyclic hydrocarbon compound and (B) a reaction product of (a3) the polyhaloaromatic compound with (a1) the amide-group-containing cyclic hydrocarbon compound, provided that a compound (b1) having 1-3 aromatic cyclic structural parts in one molecule and a carboxy group in the molecule is contained as (B) the above reaction product and the content of the compound (b1) is 50-300 mass ppm based on the total mass of the polyarylene sulfide resin (A) and the reaction product (B).
