PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal panel whose power consumption can be made low under simple control. SOLUTION: A memory circuit 8 is connected to a first subpixel 6a and a second subpixel 6b of a pixel electrode 6 of a pixel 5 which are weighted in 1:2 area proportion. The first subpixel 6a and the second subpixel 6b are controlled under the on/off control by the memory circuit 8. When the first subpixel 6a and the second subpixel 6b are brought under the on/off control by the memory circuit 8 at random, the pixel 5 provides grayscale display in four stages. The memory circuit 8 can be a digital circuit. The constitution of the memory circuit 8 can be simplified and the power consumption of the memory circuit 8 can be reduced.
