A method for concealing an error in decoding video and a decoding apparatus using the same are provided to solve a problem of a multi hypothesis technique that it can accurately conceal an error but an amount of calculation increases. When a bit stream is inputted, a bit stream of an NAL(Network Abstraction Layer) is decoded(402). Each frame is decoded(404), and each slice of each frame is decoded(406). A macroblock of each slide is decoded(408), and in this case if there is no error, the decoded macroblocks are stored in an output buffer so as to be outputted as a restored bit stream later(420). If a macroblock or a slice has an error, the slice with an error is decoded(410) and an operation for concealing the error of the macroblock is performed(412).
