<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically generate a document name so that a user can easily specify a document stored by the user on a storage document list screen. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus is provided with means (S201 to S203) for, when document name information designated by a user is included in print data, registering the designated document name as the document name of a storage document information management table, and for, when the document name information is not included, generating a temporary document name on the basis of the information transmitted as the job name, and for duplicating the specific character string from the job name as the character string resulting in the temporary document name; means (S204, S205) for retrieving the character string from the list of the duplicated specific character strings; and means (S206, S207) for, when the pertinent character string is included in the list of the specific character strings, retrieving whether or not the specific character string is included in the duplicated temporary document name, and for, when any character string matched with the specific character string is found, replacing the pertinent character string in the temporarily document name with another character string. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
