PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure measuring objects of various shapes with high accuracy, when measuring the characteristics concerning the length of the measuring objects, by mounting an optical measuring means on the tool-attachment part of a working machine. SOLUTION: An optical measuring system includes driving and controlling of a spindle head 6 along a drive pattern 51, in a similar manner as when processing the measuring objects 4 to synchronize the drive; detecting a measuring light 15 reflected on the measuring objects by an optical detection element 22, by irradiating the measuring objects 4 from a light source 21 of an optical measuring instrument 18 with the measuring light; and calculating the shapes, as well as, processing errors or the like, of the measuring objects 4, based on the positional information of the spindle head 6 and measured data, obtained by the optical detection element 22 in synchronization with the positional information.
