<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synchronization processing apparatus and a synchronization processing method which suppress unsteady output by preventing the discontinuity of a stream signal after it is restored. <P>SOLUTION: An amount of delay calculated for each video signal is compared before and after signal disconnection. Only for those video signals which have different values for delay amount before and after the signal disconnection, a value of delay amount to be used for synchronization processing in a delay memory 3 is renewed. To be more specific, when a disconnection of video signal input appears and then the connection is restored, an amount of delay is recalculated and the delay amount (memory delay) is renewed to the recalculated value. So, the delay amount before the video signal disconnection (normal video signal) and the delay amount recalculated after the video signal is restored are compared, and the delay amount is renewed only for those signals whose delay amount is different before and after the signal disconnection. In other words, there is no renewal operation performed for those video signals whose delay amount does not change before and after the signal disconnection. By this method of renewing the delay amount, such a defect that writing into and reading out to/from the delay memory 3 are initialized and thereby the discontinuity of the video signal appears in subsequent stages can be prevented as much as possible. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
