PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp lighting device 15 capable of rationalizing a lamp current flowing at lighting of a discharge lamp 14 in consideration of a leakage current flowing in a stray capacitance. SOLUTION: During a period from preheating to applying starting voltage of the discharge lamp 14, the stray capacitance is calculated by using the lamp current detected by a current detecting means 28 and a lamp voltage detected by a voltage detecting means 29. In light-controlling of the discharge lamp 14, the appropriate lamp current is calculated by using the calculated stray capacitance in advance, and a high frequency generating device 21 is controlled according to the calculated appropriate lamp current value. The lamp current flowing in the lighting of the discharge lamp 14 is rationalized in consideration of the leakage current flowing in the stray capacitance. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
