<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a line head capable of simply controlling gradation, and an image forming apparatus using the line head. <P>SOLUTION: In Fig (a), a light source (exposure pixel) with a diameter of 20μm is arranged at a resolution of 2,400 dpi. A diameter of an imaging spot, which is formed on a surface-to-be-exposed by making a light flux from the light source pass through a lens array, is set at 60μm, and three light-emitting element lines 94 with many provided exposure pixels 90 are arranged in a sub-scanning direction. A pixel pitch D1 is set at 10.6μm. An interval between the center lines at both the sub-scanning-direction ends of the line 94 is set at 63.5μm, about six times the pixel pitch in. In this way, the diameter of the spot is set greater than the pixel pitch. The gradation is expressed by the on-off control of each light source. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
