PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display that optimally adjusts the chroma, while reducing the cost by decreasing the circuit scale. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display includes a backlight 4 provided on the back of a display unit 1, a driver 6 for the backlight which applies a voltage to the back light 4, and aγtable 8 containing data forγcorrections of R, G, and B, and a luminance adjustment signal, corresponding to the voltage applied to the backlight 4 is input to the driver 6 for the backlight, so that theγtable data of R, G, and B can be updated, in response to the luminance adjustment signal variations.
