PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide platemaking for screen printing which is excellent in (1) shortening of an ageing time after stretching, (2) reduction of changes in dimensions (deformation in the directions of bias angles and distortion such as dimensional expansion or contraction) in the initial stage of printing, (3) reduction of changes with time (the deformation in the directions of bias angles and the distortion such as dimensional expansion or contraction) in continuous printing and (4) snap off in printing, in regard to the platmaking for screen printing from combination mask specifications. SOLUTION: A sheetlike matter which is constituted of a fabric consisting of a fiber showing characteristics of a tensile strength of 150 kg/mm<SP>2</SP>or more, an elastic modulus in tension of 4,000 kg/mm<SP>2</SP>or more and tensile elasticity of 10% or less and thus having a high strength and a high modulus, or is constituted of a material showing characteristics equivalent to the above, is used as a support.
